Day 5 of the partypokerLIVE 2017 Caribbean Poker Party saw two more champions crowned and the MILLIONS Main Event progress to Day 2.
MILLIONS Super High Roller
Chris Hunichen took down the $25,500 MILLONS Super High Roller, defeating Sam Greenwood heads-up to secure a $400,000 payout.
Play on the final day began with only six players and the player count was reduced by one when Rafael Moraes opened to 525,000 with during the 125,000/250,000/250,000a level. partypoker ambassador Sam Trickett called on the button with and Greenwood called in the small blind with . Steffen Sontheimer then moved all-in for 3,875,000 with and only Trickett called. The board ran to send Sontheimer to the rail.
The blinds increased to 150,000/300,000/300,000a soon after Sontheimer’s demise and the increase of the cost per round left Moraes quite short. He moved all-in for 4,000,000 with and Trickett called with to put Moraes at risk. Trickett flopped two pair as the community cards ran and Moraes was gone.
Spain’s Adrian Mateos, a three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, moved al-in for 5,850,000 chips (14.6 big blinds) with and Trickett moved all-in over the top with . Hunichen then woke up with in the small blind and called off his 12,750,000 stack. A queen-friendly board reading bust Mateos and left Trickett on fumes.
Trickett bust when he moved all-in for only 1,150,000 chips with and Hunichen called with . Hunichen paired his queen on the flop and when the turn and river fell and it was game over for Trickett.
Hunichen held a massive chip lead over Greenwood going into heads-up and it didn’t take long for him to press home his advantage. The final hand saw Hunichen set Greenwood all-in for slightly more than 10 big blinds with and Greenwood called with . The sixes looked like staying the best hand but a cruel run out saw Hunichen improve to a straight with the board reading and the title was his.

MILLIONS Open Champion Crowned
Rainer Kempe is $200,000 richer than a few days ago courtesy of the German star winning the $1,100 MILLIONS Open.
The fourth and final day’s play started with 26 players and ended with Kempe holding the winner’s trophy aloft. A massive hand too place during the 25th level of the tournament, one that eliminated three players.
Start of the day chip leader Ioannis Angelou-Konstas moved all-in from under the gun, Anastasija Sivaka re-shoved from late position, Claudio Di Giacomo called in the cutoff and Pavel Plesuv called off his stack from the button.
Konstas held , Sivaka held , Plesuv the powerhouse that is , but Di Giacomo had been dealt . The finalboard read to bust three players and catapult Di Giacomo to 204,000,000 chips.
By the time the official eight-handed final table was reached, Di Giacomo had increased his stack to 267,000,000 partly due to him finding aces again to bust Paul Michaelis in ninth-place.
Vincent Tremblay was the first player eliminated from the official final table, his pocket nines proving no match for the in Paul Hockin’s hand, William Blais, Michael Sklenicka and Andrei-Lucian Boghean bust from the tournament.
The final four became three when New Zealand’s Hockin’s couldn’t get there against Kempe’s dominating and heads-up was set when Manuel Martinez’s lost to the of Di Giacomo with both players flopping a king.
Heads-up lasted 90-minutes and Kempe showed his class by chipping away at Di Giacomo’s stack. The final hand saw Kempe limp on the button with and call when Di Giacomo raised all-in for 198,000,000 chips, or 24.75 big blinds. The board came into view, Di Giacomo fell in second place and Kempe added another major title to his already impressive poker resume.

MILLIONS Main Event Day 1b and 1c
The final two starting flights of the $5,300 MILLIONS Main Event took place on November 21 with Day 1b attracting 436 entries and Day 1c seeing 20 players take to the felt.
Russia’s Gleb Tremzin topped the chip counts on Day 1b, bagging up 7,353,000 chips, while Pedro Cavalieri amassing a 7,125,000 stack.
Team partypoker members Richard Dubini (4,660,000), Roberto Romanello (2,800,000), Joao Simao (2,040,000) and Padraig Parkinson (1,370,000) made it through, but Natalia Breviglieri, Louise Butler and Jason Koon will all need to fire another bullet while late registration is open on Day 2 if they want to become a MILLIONS champion.
Some of the other big names progressing to Day 2 include Daniel Dvoress (4,889,000), Stephen Chidwick (4,824,000), Tom Middleton (4,374,000), David Peters (3,183,000), Sam Chartier (2,483,000), Mike Leah (1,892,000), Anthony Zinno (1,700,000), Mike Watson (1,489,000) and Bryn Kenney (941,000).
